hello all:

Im building a 98 super rat and I need a head and cylinder. I was also told that the 98 road toad head and cylinder will also work. I have an ace 100 engine and a partial wombat engine for possible trade.

The 99 Toad head and cylinder will work, but they will not give you the same power that the Super Rat parts will. You can port the Toad cylinder to Super Rat spec but then you will need a Super Rat head.

I just did this. I hope you take my advice here. I went through 3 cylinders to get a good useable one!. The #1 problem you will find out there is any cylinder you see will have a 95% chance of being hacked up for a reed valve conversion. Given the price of a cylinder(s) and bore/piston set you WILL be $$ ahead buying the refurbished cylinder set from Paul's Strictly Hodaka. You can look for a cheaper alternative, but be very careful out there.

The 98 cylinder is already a reed valve cylinder .
