Repaired shift cover

I had a badly cracked Hodaka shift cover which was from my reeded Combat Wombat motor. I had been saving it to take eventually to a local welder for repair. But, he sold the business and moved to Colorado. No one left!

So, I was sending a set of shocks to Alan Donovan, for him to use on his ported reeded Ace project. I told Alan to have the shocks in exchange for getting his local guy to aluma-weld the cover for me.

Alan picked it up today and sent me a photo! Here’s a Before & After! I’m impressed!!! Perfect? No. Damn close? Absolutely!!! :ugeek: Victor

That’s a great job I think it turned out bear perfect as well considering how difficult they are to weld

I was totally amazed when Alan sent me the pic! He said the machinist told him the repair would show and the cover would need painting. I don’t think I’m going to bother with paint. :ugeek: Victor

Cover was painted black. Not sure why. It’s unpainted as of right now. Has to return to me from British Columbia. Alan Donovan sent me the pic. It’s in the mail right now…. :ugeek: Victor
