Bad Rock Requirements

“… Other than county roads, all the off road sections are on private property and will not require an ORV permit. However, all bikes must be equipped with a working silencer and spark arrestor.”
Copied from the Bad Rock Ride description under EVENTS on the Club page. I want to know does the stock Combat Wombat flamethrower exhaust on the early models meet this requirement? If not, what will bring it into compliance without damaging the pipe or performance? Thx!

It does, provided all the parts are there. Look at the chromed tip. Does it not say Forest Service approved?

Will do. I believe it does. It’s the original pipe and I haven’t removed anything. Unless it was gone before I bought it. I’ll compare it to this…

Is part #66 (inner pipe) in place? If so, you are good to go.

Good news! Both 65 & 66 are in my Combat Wombat and in my Ace B+. The only flamethrower pipe I have with it missing is part #66 on my 94 Wombat. However, I’m in the process of acquiring one for the Wombat! Prolly won’t be bringing it to Hodaka Days, but, I want to make it complete for riding in the forests and deserts around Santa Fe!

What about the "Gill" spark arrestor?
I used them "Back in the day" and they are USFS approved.

Of course. Anything marked as USFS Approved is perfect.
