I haven't found a wiring diagram for my 1976 02 Toad.

Does anyone know the key switch wire colors/codes for this model?

Also can you tell me what "E" is for in the main switch diagram.

Many Thanks..

Charlie

Thanks.. The diagram for the 02 model is not posted yet.

I did not think to consider "E" for ground.

We just got the bike, it has a bad switch, with the wires broken from the switch.
The switch has the same markings as the 99 toad, but the wiring is different.

Well nuts! I obviously didn't follow the link all the way out...
I am not aware of any difference in the wiring between the 99 and the 02. They have the same switch part number. I do see that the 02 uses the model 01 Dirt Squirt main wiring harness. And, the Dirt Squirts originally came out with the 99 harness and changed mid-production. Interesting...

The diagrams for the squirt are not ready either.
The switch looks the same as the 03 wombat, but my switch has a brown wire, and I had a wire on HL, but the wombat doesn't.

Thanks for you help, it looks as if I am going to be using my meter to research this.

The 99 & 02 Toads gave pretty much the same wiring diagrams. The biggest change for both is adding pink & Grey wires for the added turn signal lights.

Hears a quick, enhanced copy of the 99 Toad wiring diagram! :ugeek: Victor

Thanks for the update.

But my bike has a brown wire attached to the "HL" terminal on the switch.

According to the wiring diagram the "HL" is not even used in the switch. Maybe someone did some "changes".
