I've reluctantly entered the 21st century.

Due to forces beyond my control, my employer has done away with the tiny, discreet pager I've used for 25 years (and which has been clipped to the inside of my motocross pants, along with my thin as a rail flip phone, on more races and rides than I can imagine) in lieu of a smart phone. It seems like it has the juice to more easily post pictures and video clips on our forum. The phone I had to get is an I-phone 11(it can handle the scrambling/overwriting software to be able to legally transmit protected health information). The camera and video quality seems great. Does anyone have any tips or tricks you can hip me to? Sorry for the non-Hodaka content. It is in the spirit of improving future Hodaka content.

I like the thought of the disassembly/assembly idea. Thanks Albert. I was wondering if anyone knows how to post pictures directly to the forum.

Dan, does that require transferring the image to the computer first or can I post images and text directly from the phone?

I post from my phone, the pic has to be accessible to be able to transfer it over. So if you’re using a laptop the pic has to be on there to transfer it.

Matt! Welcome to the world of technology!

About your iPhone & pics, the photo editing software on the phone is pretty good once you learn to use it!

Your basic point & shoot photos are of a lower quality and size until you edit them! Here’s an example!

The top photo is before photo editing. Just a plain shot of a plain Combat Wombat.

The second is an after photo of the same bike after it’s been photo edited. So it can really make a big difference, once you learn to use the software!

Call me if you want to know how to use the photo editing software! (505) 913-0558.

Also, I’ve found that if you do minor cropping, you won’t find near as many photos rotating on you and people on the forum telling you all your photos are upside down! :ugeek: Victor

Congrats on the upgrade Matt. It’s something I haven’t done yet but know that I should. It seems when I pull this out that I get looks from passerby’s like I just stepped out of my Flintstone car lol.

Hey Mac, Yep keep that baby. I always got a lot of crap about my flip phone. I also watched my friends spend small fortunes on fancy phones one after another and, at the same time, lose their ability to sit down and have a chat for more than 5 minutes without looking at it, or recall facts off the top of their heads. Some folks even interrupt a going conversation to see what or who stimulated a "notification" ping on their phone like they are expecting Henry Kissinger or the Publisher's Clearing House to be ringing in any minute. Tell me if this sounds familiar. Mine was bought and paid for for over 10 years. Budget plan cost next to nothing. No "data", internet, facebook or any of that crap. No GPS tracking BS. Better reception than any smart phone. It made phone calls! Like a phone! Brilliant. And, most importantly, if a flip phone is good enough for Captain America and Iron Man, I'm down.
