For the Hodaka Ace 90/100/100B/100MX manual? It’s not a traditional 3 ring punch. And my binding glue is failing. Need to find one! Help!!! :ugeek: Victor

Take it to staples and see if they can match you up with something. Or get page protectors, separate the manual and use the protectors in a standard binder. I have a full set of BSA parts books set up like that. Protects the pages and keeps them clean.

I was hoping that someone knew the specific size notation of this 3 ring punch. I’m thinking I can take just the front cover and see if I can match it up.

I’ll consider the second option if I can’t find I matching 3 ring binder. The binder glue on my manual is really drying up & cracking away! :ugeek: Victor

3/8" drill. Put the holes wherever you'd like. That's how mine is held together. I like Dan's suggestion better.

If you use my option you can take out any single pages you might need and they stay nice and clean. Then just return them to the correct place.

1. There is no Staples in Santa Fe any more.
2. No one here in town carries binders with the rings on 3.5” centers.
3. I’m taking the book to have the back trimmed and the holes drilled to fit a 4.25” std binder.

I’ll likely have it copied as well so I’m not using the original with greasy fingers! Also, having it copied shouldn’t be an issue since it was a PABATCO publication. Also, knowing the copy cost, I can make it available to other people who want it so they don’t get ripped off on eBay when it’s occasionally found. I’ve seen them running consistently for $45-60 now and sometimes as high as $100! And I don’t see Terry offering a shop manual for the 90/100’s. Just the parts manuals. :ugeek: Victor

Go to Walmart and buy a binder and box of page protectors, it is the way to go.

If you are going to the trouble of making a copy, you could have it scanned and make a pdf of it and save the print cost by only printing what you need at a time.

I use a parts washer to clean before I start to work on things and as soon as I get them apart. I also have a roll of toilet paper fastened to my work bench to clean fingers, on the small stuff, Paper towels and cloth towels to keep everything clean, I use a wire dipped in my oil to lube during assembly drops only where I need them. ----------- Clarence

When you buy overhaul bundles from HPI, they include a parts diagram in page protectors

i like to scan the manuals on to a memory stick and into the computer. i look at it as another hodaka project. i have a lot of pictures of each bike during the tear down and rebuild so having the pictures and manuals in one place , on a lap top computer, help me out as there both in one place and easy access , easy to print out a certain page or two and still have to hard copy . and Clarence i use a flexible spout oil can for oil .... albert

"I like to scan the manuals" ...

Couldn't agree more. And for me, that makes it so easy to zoom in and read the print or see a small portion of a picture better. I didn't used to have to do that.

Roger that on the oil can, too.

I don’t use my manual that much. Most of the time I just go to Terry’s website and look up what I need.

I only go to the manual of I’m doing something new, which I haven’t read about/done before. With the Super Rats I’ve looked up a few things.

I just want to save it because it’s falling apart. I talked to a friend who has a digital print shop. He has a power cutter to trim the glue edge off the book to separate the pages. And he has a paper drill and will drill new holes on 4.25” centers which is a standard 3 ring binder spacing, instead of the old 3.5”. So it will fit in a standard binder. :ugeek: Victor

I found my three ring hole punch it is adjustable for all sizes. I am sure you have it all taken care of by now. ----- Clarence
