Fellow Hodakaphiles:

Time to pull together the winter 2021 Resonator Revisited. I need to ask for material by January 29th !

We’re off to a good start, with a historical piece by Leon Wilbanks, a couple of nice tech tips from Rick Buhite and… another amazing, novel restoration by Lee Fabry! Plus, time (and Eric) permitting, an interview with Eric Jensen, a former Hodaka dealer and the source of early specialty performance parts for Hodakas, including cylinders, pistons, rings, exhausts and intakes.

Share information on projects, ideas (technical or humorous). Any and all will be appreciated. Racing wins (local, regional or national) or "ya shoulda seen the one that got away," cool trail/road rides across our fair (our your fair, for our Canadian and Australian members) country, we'd love to hear about your thrills and, um, learning experiences.

Remember, our two "sections":
- one on member's bikes, to showcase any cool bikes (yours or others) members are willing to share,
- and "Tech Tips" - a section intended to include short pieces on clever little time/labor/cost-saving ideas writers are willing to share.
Please consider contributing these short items in addition, of course, to your more lengthy, and illuminating works!

Our target for the next issue is to produce and distribute the next issue in February.

Allowing for editing & layout, I need your stuff no later than January 29th . Please help with timely submissions.

nice resonator . captain ive down sized 3 times and each time its helped with the quality of life each time was a hard decision no doubt about it, but has always worked out for the best. as for the " testing for spark " i would really like to see how the wires are hooked up to the battery's. it would really help my brain wrap around it. so how about a picture of how the wires hook up on the battery's , i need to make one but my brain fart is huge on that point . keep up the good work ...albert

Albert,
Regarding the battery...
The best and easiest option would be to go to a battery supply store and pick up a 6vdc lantern battery or hobby battery. One with screw down terminals would be perfect.

My 3vdc battery was something that I threw together in a moment of need. I took 2 D-cell batteries and soldered leads to connect them in "series" (you want to wear goggles and make the solder connections quickly as possible). Connect a long black lead to the negative end of battery #1. Connect a short lead from positive of battery #1 to negative of Battery #2. Now connect a long red lead to the positive end of Battery #2.

I installed an alligator clip on the black lead and I keep a wire nut on the red lead when it is not in use.
Hope that helps,
Dale

Albert. They have 6 volt batteries on Amazon, which look like they will fit, for $16.25. Best price I’ve seen in a long time!!! Even includes the fuse holder! :ugeek: Victor

Albert,
Thanks for the words of encouragement about downsizing! Maybe it is darkest before the storm . . . and then the sun will come out as bright as ever. :geek:
