Is there an actual difference in size of the clutch disc for the Aces -vs- the 125’s? If yes, how do you tell the difference? Thx :ugeek: Victor

It’s no wonder this Ace B doesn’t have a functioning clutch.....

I can’t find any free play at all, shimmed or no shims. It feels like the clutch disc is sticking inside the hole in the clutch case.

What do I do? Should I move the new plates & discs to another clutch case? This thing has been nothing but pure frustration. I did a new clutch rebuild on the Wombat Combat and did not have any issues. Was able to feel free play and adjust. This clutch exhibits ZERO free play...... :ugeek: Victor

Well, I replaced the clutch basket swapping out a different one. Now the clutch disc & shims fit much better, but the case is going on too tightly. No free play. I’m going to have to pull the clutch off again tomorrow and double check the pinion gear & the spacer & the bushing to see if one of them is not going on the crank far enough..... more to come tomorrow. :ugeek: Victor

If you are building from parts, trial and error are normal. Yes there are 2 different clutch discs. If you put them side by side the difference is easy to spot. One is a little convex and smooth on the outfacing surface and the other is recessed a little.

The cage thickness, the number of steel plates versus fiber plates, total plates, the disc used and the number of shims all can create a clutch pack of differing thickness.
