Hi all,

Does anyone know of to properly re-attach the mag cover?

You’re missing the shifter case dust seal, which goes around that hole. You can order them from Terry Larson at Hodaka-Parts.com

Then there are 3 bolts which hold the mag cover on. You also need to remove the inspection cover on the back of the mag cover in order to line up the control shaft with the shifter sliding pin & make sure the sliding pin is between the 2 rings on the end of the control shaft. Then tighten the 3 case screws and re-install the inspection window cover. :ugeek: Victor

I think that's what's left of the dust seal. It looks beyond worn out.

BUT... it is a bit of a pain to put the mag cover back on.

In brief, the shift shaft has to be in the "same gear" as the foot selector mechanism.

If the foot selected is in 4th and the shaft is nestled in 1st it ain't gonna line up.

AND for initial test to see if everything is working the dust seal can wait a bit.

But you'll need to pull the cover again to install a good one.

That thing you have the arrow pointing to is the shift shaft. Take off the small inspection cover to so you can see the shifter pin into the groove on the shaft. You can move the shift lever if needed to get it the right position. You do know the shift pattern for the case you have?

Ace100b, where do you live? Someone could come by your place and school you on a lot of things you should know by showing them to you on your bike.
