On the Wombat (94) air cleaner is the seal between the cover and the backing plate foam, an o'ring or quad ring? Thanks for any info, D

It is a narrow rubber c channel strip that fit over the outer edge of the backing plate. It becomes dried out and brittle over time so most did not survive.

I make my own out of rubber c channel sold as an edge protector for sheet metal products. It must be thin. The cover clearance is pretty tight. Put a light stretch into it while in place on the backing plate and use a piece of plastic wrap under the joint, I then connect the 2 ends together with a drop of super glue and later remove the plastic wrap. This keeps it from sticking and allows you to remove the gasket at a later date for painting or cleaning,

Olddogs, good news and bad news on the AC seal. Got some edging from Mcmaster-Carr and it worked like a champ. Bad news, hit the wrong amount in the quantity box and now probably have enough edging to seal all the airboxes in Hodaka nation. LOL! Thanks for the tip. D
