Hodaka Ace 90
Hodaka Ace 90
I just picked this up last week because it was part of a package deal. I was thinking about restoring but part of me wants to sell. Not sure what it's worth finished or as is. Almost complete. Missing key and something on rear fender. 5k miles not seized.

I'm wondering by your handle if you are in Vermont. There are a number of us Hodakaphiles in the Green Mountain State.

WOW ! mid - late 1965 and in great condition for it's age. That seat is what shocks me... That's original! You're missing the entire correct rear fender. couple more items I would consider minor are missing, otherwise it looks like it's all there. If you're not wild about restoring, just clean it up. It's in fantastic shape, for someone who can restore.

Wow! Time capsule. Looks like someone tried to beef up rear suspension. OEM shocks are easy to come by. I'd be interested in knowing the serial number just for fun. I'd bet it is low. That alone increases the value to some extent. Great score. Please don't let someone sweet talk you into selling off the seat or otherwise parting it out. That's a great bike you have there.
Re: Hodaka Ace 90
It needs a correct tank too. Looks like either a Wombat tank or a CW/Squirt tank. Victor

No. it's the correct tank. It's clearly a small mouth and the earlier Ace 90's had white caps.

I'm with you Rick. That is the detail that suggests the possibility of a very low serial number.

Mine has the exposed springs Clarence. When did the transition to the covered springs occur?
Re: Hodaka Ace 90
Thanks Rick! I wasn’t aware of early white caps. I’ve seen black caps which had the same shape as the red caps. But not small white ones. Victor
