A call to any Australian's, I put this request on Facebook, but knowing not everybody does Facebook I am posting here as well.
Does anyone have a spare Wombat or Dirt Squirt side stand, spring and bolt they are willing to sell?
The Dirt Squirt I bought (that turns out to be a Wombat with small wheels) does not have one, it is a long term resto and as such, is a pain for moving around with no side stand to prop her up, I have to get one eventually so I thought I might as get one now

Isn't a Wombat sidestand longer than a Dirt Squirt's? It seems it might be, with the smaller wheels on the DS.

I had asked this question previously as I would have thought so as well, they have separate part numbers, but people tell me they are the same, yet to have total confirmation.
There is a back story to this bike, I bought it of my 90 year old mate, he has had since before 1975 when I met him (bought my first and second bikes from him, he was a dealer). For all those years I thought it was a Dirt Squirt, it was red, had little wheels and a DS air box cover! I posted a photo on this forum and someone pointed out that it was a 125cc motor, so I checked all the numbers and had a real good look, and sure enough, it is a Wombat frame and motor, painted red with small wheels and DS air box cover, and no top engine stay! Old Ron died before I could question him about it. So it is a mystery, he used to race it, and I'm thinking he did a shonky and was cleaning up in the 100cc.
So my resto will be a bit of a custom job and ride vintage enduros on it as a Wombat, so I will fit larger wheels and thus require a longer stand anyway.
I'd like to get another air box cover and save the DS one.

Interesting story, Hosk1956k. Never heard the word 'shonky' before but I think I have witnessed some.

Wayne. Check with Bruce Young for a used air box assembly. And Terry has the Wombat 125 stickers for it. Not expensive at all!

I did an air box which I purchased from Bruce and the decal from Terry. Terry May have a used air box as well! Here’s mine now! Victor

I’m in Adelaide and have two average condition side stands, one is about 20 mm longer than the other. Pm me if you wand one.

Thank you for the side stand Bert44, easy job to straighten it and I had to reshape the support bracket to get it to sit right.
Now she sits up quite proud and happy.
Working on this brings back memories, as said, I have known this bike for 40 years and can always remember the owners son, who is a total moron, kick starting the bike while on the sidestand, he always thought it looked cool to heave on it while standing on the pegs like it was Harley he was kicking over! Boy, has that come home to roost!
Still undecided on what the resto will be, if I can get 21" and 18" rims I think I will return it to its Wombat form, sort of like the one I used to own, all black and shiny!

It’s my understanding, from looking at the parts lists, that the Chrome tank Model 96 had a 19” front and 17” rear when it comes to the chrome tank Squirts. The Model 01 had the larger frame and 21” front and 18” rear wheels.

But since you say it’s a Wombat frame, you could go either way since you wouldn’t be restoring for original accuracy. What does the Vin plate say the frame number is? Victor

Frame and engine numbers identify it as a 94A Victor, under the red paint is a black frame complete with stop light switch bracket still on frame, I have been meaning to fill the tank to see how much it holds, and see if it is a Wombat tank.
Had thought of some custom colours but like the idea of new black and shiny chrome, tank is in good nick, decisions decisions.

the tank looks Wombat to me. It’s got the grey filler cap and therefore a larger diameter filler than the earlier red cap models ie. Ace. v

Hello Bert, I believe the later Dirt Squirts shared the filler cap but with a 2 gall rather than 2 1/2 gall tank, I have to agree that my tank looks like a Wombat tank.
What has driven me to think of a Wombat resto is that I found some slides of my old Wombat which was my second bike, I have managed to find a Deckson Eagle which was my first bike so I am thinking I might like to continue the the trend.
That is as far as I will go though, I drifted away from Hodaka's for a while then! LOL
