Outside of the paint, what are the differences between a model 94 and 96 chain guard?

I haven't measured them, but eyeballing them they look the same.

From what I can tell it fits model 99, 1, 2 and 3. Later model bikes. The earlier ones, the rear mount hole is different.

I’m wondering if I have a Model 99 chain guard in my Combat Wombat??? What are the specific differences? You know how people are on eBay. They will list a part for an “Ace90/100/Wombat/Road Toad/Combat Wombat/Super Combat and not have a clue what they are listing. All I know is I can’t stop this guard from rubbing my chain! :ugeek: Victor

The later models have a third mounting point up front for a chain roller. I don't believe it's for a late model. It appears to be right for the 94 Wombat, Combat Wombat or 96 Dirt Squirt.

What is the overall length across the top? 10 3/16"?

Dale. Besides the 3rd mounting point, are there any other differences? For example, is there a difference in width across the top, or any other differences? Thx! :ugeek: Victor

Victor,
I do not have a later one off of a machine to really compare them, but as near as I can tell, the dimensions look to be the same. I measure 10 3/16 inches with a tape in length along the top. And measuring multiple chain guards on 94, 95, 99 and 01 models, I find them all to be between 27.5 and 29mm in width across the top.

Mines 10 1/4" front to back. 9" top to bottom, and 1" wide.

OK Dale & Thrown! I will check mine & see if I can figure out why mine continues to rub. It doesn’t do it on any of my other bikes, just both the 03 Wombat & the Combat Wombat. The 03 had just been running w/o the chain guard in place at all.

Happy Holidays to everyone!!! :ugeek: Victor
