Well maybe you can rethread it? My gosh! That’s a shame. Good luck splitting the cases. It should just be aluminum, right??? :ugeek: Victor

The welder did and excellent job. BUT what to do now? I think the DPO enjoyed many enjoyable rides after the questionable repair.

I got it apart, dremel tool, cutting wheels. Ruined the sprocket and the shaft, i'll just replace the shaft and rebuild. Minor deal, but the lengths some people will go to to keep riding. He most likely never figured to replace the worn sprocket at some point.

Easy! Weld up the teeth and grind them down. That`s how they repair obsolete gears. Joe.
