OSM Drops Harry Taylor Cup

Post by Larry S »

The 2020 Don Matthews CZ World Championship has dropped the Harry Taylor Cup from the program for "lack of participation". I wanted to dump on them about why Hodaka riders are tired of their shit, but I decided to take the high road and let it be.

Probably a good thing you did what you did!

Why doesn’t the Club pick up sponsorship of the Harry Taylor Cup? It could become an event for Hodaka Days, or it could be come an earlier “Regional” event in different areas around the country, with there being finals with the First, Second (& Third) winners regionally, competing at Hodaka Days for the Grand Finally! Just an idea, anyway. That’s my 2 Cents on it. :ugeek: Victor

We already have this event at Hodaka Days. It needs all your support to survive. Please consider racing in the Hodaka scrambles, on the Harry Taylor track in Athena. The club is 100% invested in this, and we need riders to keep it going.

God Bless our late friend Robin Hannah, who thought the CZ and Hodaka crowds would be a good mix. He was right they would be, except California is a whole world away from most of the Hodaka racers in North America. We have had guys come from Australia to race at our scrambles.

Well there ya go! I’ve not yet been to Hodaka Days, so I wasn’t aware! I’m also not much of a racer at age 63, with a spine that’s fused about 90% across its length. I’m about to find out if I can still ride off road at all, with the Combat Wombat I’ve restored. But it is my intention to make it to Hodaka Days Next June with all the bikes and my grandsons an maybe a nephew, and for all of us to ride Bad Rock! :ugeek: Victor
