For those who haven't seen the difference in the stock versus uprated retainer , here's a pic, old on the left, new on right.

Pretty much the same as the upgrades for the 125’s as well. It’s an obvious change. :ugeek:Victor

Good idea to post a picture of the two. IMHO it's the best investment you can make when rebuilding or splitting the cases on a Hodaka.
I had a kick start roller retainer go out on me on a solo ride a few years back. I was 10 mi from the truck and 20 mi from the nearest homestead and even though Hodaka's don't have a lot of compression it took me better part of a mile to bump start my M94 Wombat on a flat dirt road. Not something I'd choose to do again.
