Just did an end of season strip down. The bike was running well , no issues.
Glad I did the tear down ... I found this.
I think I had a but of luck along the way.

Nasty ... I had the cushioned hub , hardened gears and good rear sprocket carrier rubbers. It can still happen.

Got to remember we are pulling more horsepower on a lot of these bikes than they were designed for.

Kev can you rotate the drive flange "sprocket carrier" forward and backwards while everything is mounted up? Sorta like the rubbers are worn or loose??
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul
It's all good at the back wheel. The rubbers fit like new. The engine was still shifting well, it's a mystery to me. I didn't locate the missing tooth but I wasn't looking for it when I drained the oil. It may have come out earlier as I change the oil a few times in the year. I have a spare so it's all good.
