Here's a great shot of the start of the 2nd moto of the 1973 USGP held in Mossouri in August of that year .If you look to the left side of the top photo you can see Tommy Croft # 29 on his factory sponsored Hodaka 125. To his right is Can Am rider Don Goss #24 on what must have been one of the first Can Am 125's around (Aug 1973). #27 on the right side of the photo is Marty Smith on the factory sponsored Monark 125. Tommy looks like he may have gotten a fairly good start but from what results I can find, he didn't finish in the top ten. Does anybody know how he finished ? Something tells me DNF since he surely had the speed and the bike was said to be very fast.

Yes , Tommy stated that the bike was very fast with the Harry Taylor modified motor. I read that Tommy had a flat tire and DNF that race. It would have been cool to see a first place with that one!

Thanks for that info RR. I have a couple of magazine articles that covered that race but none of them mention results out of the top ten. Would have been fun to attend that race...lots of early talent was there
