Worked very well riding motocross and cross country in the old days. Harry was not using this method, I would have to look up in my notes to see what he was using. -----------Clarence

I dont think it was an objection to the action of the stock 30mm forks that had us searching for something better in the old days. Thicker/thinner oil, spring spacers, air caps, all kinds of tricks for dampening were out there to try. It was the twisting of the tubes at the lower clamp and the vague feeling when trying to get out of a rut or a quick change of direction that had many of us trying other options. The 34 mm forks were no great improvement, but at least the front wheel stayed under the fender when coming out of hard turn.
