Australian Wombat

Hi. I’ve just bought a non running Wombat #94 but it’s definitely rebuildable. I’m missing the magneto cover and the rear wheel is rusted through to the spokes. I’ve looked on eBay for the magneto cover and there are plenty of Ace covers but no 125s. Are they harder to find and is the shift pattern the same as my Ace 100.
Are there any rims from the other jap manufacturers that would be the same as the Wombat rear. Postage of a rim from USA to Australia would be to prohibitive for an original second hand rim.

I just picked up a Wombat with a good cover. I want to look the bike over and see if it's salvageable first. Been outside a very long time. Exhaust is paper thin, fenders are junk, it does roll, motor does not. I'm leaning toward parts, but we'll see.

As to the rim, a good aluminum rim would work fine, unless you need the original chrome one.

Thanks thrownchain
If I can get a similar era jap bike rim it would probably be chrome but it doesn’t have to be pristine, just not too much pitted rust.
Very interested in the cover.

As long as the spoke angles and count are the same, it should work.

Shift pattern on the early 100’s is backwards (1 up, 4 down) but functionally will operate the transmission and bolt up. Lots more of them around, because folks like to convert the early pattern to the late One.
