Close Color Match -Toad Green

I was looking for a product I could get in a rattle can which was a close match to the Road Toad Green & could be used on plastic. Why? Because you can’t find front fenders in Road Toad Green!

Today I went to Lowe’s, after searching on line, and found Krylon All-In-One Jungle Green.

I sprayed it on a smaller Kawasaki green fender I had and the color match was pretty darned close! I didn’t prep the plastic, just shot some on real fast for comparison! Good enough to spray the larger Kawasaki Green front fender I have on the Green Toad! :ugeek: Victor

I have found that the Krylon Fusion paint works well on plastic fenders an such, just not great on plastic gas tanks (but then again what does). It will be interesting to see if the paint you use will last well.

Matching is good enough! I think it is a great match! It can always be repainted if he manages to scratch it up!

I did clean the plastic with warm water & dish soap, to make sure the surface had no contaminates to keep the paint from sticking.

I may try sanding one of the old original plastic fenders to try & get it smooth & see how it works on that older plastic! :ugeek: Victor

I think it looks a whole lot better than the Kawasaki Green!!! You can see it sticking out at the back of the front end here. That was the old smaller fender. When it’s dry & I mount it, I’ll take an outside photo. :ugeek: Victor

Dirty_Rat, the Krylon will hold up on the plastic tank if you let it dry for 2 days and then add the Krylon gloss clear coat over it. Clearing always makes the paint harder. :ugeek: Victor

Fender is on! I think it now matches nicely! No more Kawasaki Green!

I may try this paint, after doing a graduated sanding in one of the several stock Road Toad front fenders I have! :ugeek: Victor
