crankshaft question

Building a E engine for Steve, 6204 bearing is too small for the clutch side?? what is wrong here, I have other cranks that will work, this one is cleaned and ready to go it just doesn't fit. ------------------Clarence

Since an E motor is basically an Ace motor, according to the parts book, both sides of the crank take 6204. If the bearing is too small, you have the wrong crank, I believe the Super rat crank takes the bigger bearing, ( if I remember correctly) , some one jump in here who knows more than me.

Thanks I just thought the crank was ace. I think you are probably correct I just had not run into it before. According to the few receipts i kept I sold 35 + rats, and sold the 9th combat wombat produced. ---------------Clarence

I just did a quick rummage thru the illustrated parts lists and all the models up thru 94, 95, 96, 97 and 98 used the 6204 on the clutch side. The model 99 Road Toad (the first model with primary kick start) is the first one I found to use the 6304 ball bearing on the clutch side.

Before you put that crank back on the shelf, label it so you don't have the same issue on down the road.
