Interesting article from the Walla Walla Paper

Post by Makotosun »

Found this in Google Books. Like to locate a nice original for scanning for the club site!

Anyone have access to the newspaper archives?

As you read it, these are screenshots off my iPad. The article actually begins on the bottom one, then to the top for the next column, etc.

I couldn’t get it on one shot and be legible at all!

Gary, is this paper still in publication ? If so they keep archives, you should be able to get a copy from them. Our local paper had archive back 100 years.

Most likely published in the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin. While I can't recognize anyone in the Hodaka/PABATCO photo - I do recognize some of the folks in the bank photo. Sorry, I don't see how I can scrape up the time right now to pursue the archives.

3 Degrees of Separation here. Mom’s family rented The Key Farm House, next to Hensell’s Farm, till they moved to 9th & Sherman Ave, same street those PABATCO guys are stuffing boxes :). Bill Hensell is now state senator and was THE wizard that got $300,000 grant for Gem Theater & Hodaka’s future museum!
