Carburetor jets?

Hi guys, the other guy with a new bike ?cleaned my carb it wasn't idling,hard starting. Now it starts very easy and idles very nice. It's all stock ace 100b+. I'm prefixing yamalube R2 oil at 32 to1ratio recommended by others on the forum. The bike seems to have a little,trouble clearing it throat so to speak under fast acceleration through the gears. Not as crisp as It could be. Do you need to change to different jet sizes useing this more modern oil and ratio. I believe mine are original. I adjusted my mixture screw at 11/2 turn out . Any suggestions would be appreciated . I love this bike . THANKS Dean

Dean,
There are many variables that affect jetting. Elevation, humidity, barometric pressure, and air temperature are some of the environmental variables. Before changing jetting of the carburetor all mechanical variables should be addressed. These could include obstructed air flow or over oiled air filter, plugged exhaust pipe (very common but often overlooked), and leaking engine seals, gaskets, carburetor mounting and mating surfaces, and /or plugged or restricted carburetor apertures. Once these variables have been addressed then you can approach jetting the carb from the bottom up using the approach described in the workshop manuals available from Strictly Hodaka and most of the Hodaka parts suppliers.

A couple of other things, make sure timing is spot on. And do a compression and leak down test.
