hey yall,
I am brand new owner of a 125 hodaka combat wombat model 95. I think that's right according to the frame #D20470.and I think its a 1973 year model. correct me if im wrong, I am brand new to this forum also. the bike seems to be complete other than missing the air boot from the carb to the airbox. looks like the counter shaft seal is leaking. I have a few questions that I know yall can help me with;

1- what is the gas oil mixture ratio?
2- what type of oil to use in the transmission
3- cleaning out the gas tank - any suggestion would be appreciated.

thanks
LaCowboy

Both of your oil questions were covered within the past month or so, so I'm going to save my typing fingers and refer you to previous posts (you'll likely bump into some other interesting information while searching).

Acetone is often used to clean out viscous gunk, de-gunking is often needed before de-rusting. De-rusting is often achieved by shaking/tumbling with several handsful of sheet rock screws inside. Some folks prefer using electrolysis to de-rust the interior, while others prefer Evaporust. (More researching in your future -- ;) )

Welcome to the Hodaka clan! You've got my absolute FAVORITE model of Hodaka . . . well . . . except maybe for the toaster tank Dirt Squirt . . . and the painted tank Wombat (Model 03). I just can't decide for sure . . .

You need the oil gunk varnish goo out of the tank before the rust remover, I put in a cup of 1/2 inch nuts and washers / sheet rock screws ect and I use lacquer thinner to get red of the residue. Clarence
