250 crankshaft

Post by michael_perrett »

Looking for a 250 crankshaft with a bad rod. Must have corrosion free main bearing and seal journals.

I can't help with the crank. You and Jake should come to the PVR swap meet in York. I'll bring the ED frames and the one swing arm I have for you. I think there are some more parts I could bring.

If memory is correct, the SL250 and 250ED cranks were different on the clutch side. Mag side is the same. This may or may not make a difference in your project goals.

I would prefer the SL crank, if possible.

I will check my shop tomorrow. I raced the 250 for a couple of years and had a lot of spare 250 parts. Sold all the bikes but kept a couple engines.

I have a number of good used crankshafts here, I just hate to rebuild a good crankshaft to install a new rod assembly. A future project of mine requires a new crankshaft with a new rod assembly.
