Good news and bad news! The good news is that I finally talked my wife into letting me bring my prized Super Rat in to the house, the bad news is, that it is only because we are hunkering down from Hurricane Irma. Wish us luck. We will probably be losing power shortly. Linc

Did we all make it through Irma OK?
All we had in NW Ala was sprinkles and gusty winds.
Best wishes to those further SE...

I made it through with only a few limbs down. No water damage or wind damage to the house. We were only without power for approx. 20 hours at home. Work was another matter as there was only emergency power at work and no A/C (close quarters without A/C in Florida and things can get "ripe" quickly). Haven't heard from Rough Rider yet to see how he made out, but hopefully he and his family are fine. Hopefully everyone else in Florida (or any other areas effected by Irma) are fine.

Hey bullfrog (not the infamous Bullfrog), yes, I am in Spring Hill. Still in Pasco county, but the post office calls us Spring Hill (really north end of Land-o-lakes). Our neighborhood just had a few trees down, but otherwise no problems. I heard parts of Trinity were flooded out.

Hey All, I hope all you Florida Hodaka enthusiast are ok after Irma. I just got power and cable/internet over the weekend. Six days of listening to a generator run will drive you nuts. Keep all of your Hodakas in their safe place because Hurricane Maria is coming our way. Talk to you all soon, Linc

Victor, we had no house damage, just powerlines down and several big trees. It took two solid days of chainsawing to get it cleaned up. Thanks for asking, Linc

Talked with "Rough Rider" yesterday and he and his family are all fine. He had power out for a few days but no damage.

I have friends & family in Florida. One said they only went 30 hours without power. Others were not so lucky.

The bike is fine, not a scratch. No water damage either, but I'll tell you, I am sick of Florida and it's Hurricanes. 50 years of this is enough, I can't wait until I can retire and move north. Just venting a little....Linc

Glad to hear all is OK, and that you are safe and sound, Linc! Its interesting to hear you mentioning a move north when the time comes. Living in Iowa, I'm used to hearing people bitching about the weather up here and dreaming of the day when they can finally move to Florida.

Linc. I had a friend who lived in Florida for years, take a transfer with his company to Colorado Springs, CO. He left in October. He is the happiest I've seen him! I'm just 4 hours south of him in Northern New Mexico.
In the mountains you have Winter, and some snow. But that's it! No hurricanes, no tornadoes, no Tsunamis, and rarely a flash flood. If you want to relicate to a safer place, come out West!!!

Yes, it does seem that alot of people want to move here (Florida), but the weather here is HOT and very humid and it seems to be getting worse each year. There are no seasons here, just hot and humid year round that's it. Also, you have the constant threat of hurricanes each season and it just gets to be very taxing. I don't want to keep bashing Florida because I know many people enjoy living in this state, I am just overdue for a change. Victor, to your point, I really do love it out west. When the shuttle was flying, I worked two or three months a year (for twenty years) in California. The weather there agreed with me and I could see myself living out west somewhere. Also, there seems to be so many more motorcycle events in the west. A lot more people seem to be into the "vintage" bikes out west than back here in the east. Anyways, this is just me rambling...Linc
