69 Ace 100 Dimmer Switch

---Jumping off from the Ace 100 lighting thread.....
My Dimmer switch was broken inside. Don't think it was original, but not sure.
Now have a new 3 position switch with a side mounted horn button and an open non wired button on top that I assume can be wired as a kill switch.
I cut the old switch off and tried, for starters, to simply wire the new switch to the old wires. The wiring seemed logical to the "ACE 90" diagram, in that, the Yellow was wired in the "either-or" bridge position.
It was a No-go, except the horn works. Hmm.
The horn beeps when you touch black to the blue yellow or red wire coming from the headlight can, and of course if you ground it to say the clutch lever.
(So it seems like all of these color wires are acting like ground.)
What simple test can I do to verify proper continuity?
Which wires would you connect together to test the light and the switch circuitry? Yellow to Lt B or yellow to Red does not work.
I only have a Voltage tester with the "bleep" continuity setting.
The new switch acts like this
position 1 Yellow to Lt Blue
Center Red to Lt Blue (On the old switch, Yellow was on its own without touching anything)
Position 2, Yellow to Red
Horn, Black creates contact to handlebar ground)
Top button rocket launcher, kill switch, oooga horn - Not sure yet
BTW: The lights in the headlamp and the little high beam bulb test ok
And the tail light works... yay.
Thanks for any help. Sorry about the long windedness.
