Max's New Project

Max's new project needs a name. The Day One Project was the last one and the name stuck as the bike was documented from, yes, day one to finish. It's still probably not finished but you get the idea. Some things we need to consider are: I probably sold this bike new almost 50 years ago and raced short track against it for several years. Hah, It never beat me. I found the bike at an auction yesterday and the two brothers that raced the bike are now deceased. I purchased it for $65 and it's grim. Not a practical project but I do have an old collection of Hodaka parts that would help things along. The final project is to build a road race or top-end oriented machine as in record attempt for a 100cc machine. In reality this is never going to set records or even road race but it's something I've looked at and researched for years. Maybe it's time to at least build the machine with a purpose no matter how far fetched. A goal is always good. Record attempts are all far from Kansas as the Texas Mile and salt flats. The machine will try to fill both roles but at best probably only be tested locally. 100 MPH could be a goal. After all this talk for years this could be one of those on-going and never finished projects that entertains me and makes for a good story.
I'm toying with the title line from an old song by REO Speedwagon, "It's Time for Me to Fly". It was a line I used in racing to inspire me before entering a road race course from the pits. It helped raise the hair on my neck and was also funny. How about The Time for Me to Fly Project? Maybe. Hmm, still thinking.
My wife wants to call it "The Next Last Great Hodaka Project" which does keep happening and is semi-humorus.
So, there you go, ideas, help, comments, votes and remarks welcome! This could be a long story and a good title is needed to start this project!
