Worn needle jet

I was having some issues getting my 96 Dirt Squirt to run properly. It would start and idle but ran really rich at mid range and would foul the plug. I had aleady cleaned the carb and everything was in order, or so I thought. Anyway the rich mixture and fouled plug indicated that there was still a carb issue so I pulled it off the bike and went through it with a fine tooth comb. Initially I suspected a float problem, but this is what I found:
Notice the enlarged hole on the jet to the right. These jets are both the same number, but the jet on the right was worn much larger. It was also banged up a bit, probably from an earlier mechanic encountering the same problem I found. I was really surprised how much the jet could wear especially on an engine running premix fuel.
I replaced the jet and the bike runs great now.
