I have a model 94 and I'm getting intermittent spark what is the most likely culprit a rusted magnito? I checked the points and they weren't burned and what would it take to change it over to electronic ignition and where can I purchase the needed parts to do it

The most likely culprit would be 45 year old bullet connections. It is a simple circuit and quite reliable really. A little TLC on the connections would probably fix it. This includes cleaning the coil mounting screws and the like.

I have seen points that looked perfect that only worked part time, intermittent spark sounds like points to me but others ore working with this older stuff more than I-----Clarence

Another possibility could be a break in one of the wires without it showing a break in the insulation. Sometimes these are the most troublesome to track down. ; D Victor

Given enough time I've seen point contacts film over with a sort of invisible oxidation. They look fine to the eye but still won't work, and it takes more than a few swipes with a point file to break the glaze.
Other than that, it might be the condenser but bad ones often work OK intermittently, or until they heat up a bit.

Thank you all for your help I've readjusted the points and reinstalled the spark plug boot and that took care of the problem
