Since I'm not planning night riding at first, and have a burned out headlight, This is what I've done as a temporary measure. I carefully removed the old bulb from the reflector/lens assembly and adapted an 1154 bulb to the reflector assy. Tbis is a "6v 1157" and is the brake/tail light bulb. It gives a 5w low beam (inadequate).and a 21w high beam (marginal). Not too good for night use, but if there is a requirement for "daytime headlights on" for motorbikes, it might seem to meet that requirement.

At a swap meet, I picked up a couple of 6v headlight bulbs of 25w/25w-- still not up to the 35w stock headlight, but better. I'm going to hunt up a couple of burned out headlamps and experiment. I'd like to be able to adapt an LED to 6v and fit it the the headlight.

I wrote a post some time ago with headlight replacement options for all Hodakas: http://www.hodakaforum.com/viewtopic.ph ... 4846#p4846

The ebay link is not active any longer but search the seller for similar items and you'll find many options.

I use a candlepower lens and I'm still using the same halogen H4 6v 35/35w bulb since I made that post. I have tested all the options I made in the initial post with great results. If you'd like to know more or have questions I can explain.

That's right, Roger, your thread is here. I was thinking it was in a back issue ot the Hodie Club Resonator. It may be there, also.

I'm intentionally reinventing the wheel on this, looking at different options/solutions to the problem.
