Hmm, #1 and #6 comes to mind. (And the stories.)
OK, I have a few minutes to tell you the #1 story.
A good friend and I were on a ride and stopped for lunch. We were in cool full road race gear, Dianese and such. We did look good. We were both riding equally sharp 1000cc Superbikes which boosted our egos. After parking our machines in front of a long row of windows we ordered and ate a great lunch and enjoyed the view (with our bikes in the picture of course.) As we left I noticed that my friend had parked a bit close and I had to get between the bikes to get it off the stand. As I pushed it off the stand and the bike rolled forward there wasn't enough room for me to take the needed first step and the disaster began. With my foot pinned and the bike moving forward I was trapped as the bike fell on me while knocking over the other bike. I was trapped in the pile under a half ton of motorcycles and had to be rescued. The worst part was seeing all those people in the restaurant lined up at the windows. Nothing injured but my pride. How embarrassing. Not only that but the superbike sustained over $1200 damage, a record for me, even in a moving crash. :o OK, that's my story concerning Murphy's law.

You take the cake with that story Maxie!

I had a friend who used to ride the Dragon a lot. It's US 129 in the mountains between Tenn. & NC. 813 turns in 11 miles!

There are 3 locations where professional photographers sit and wait and photograph cars & bikes as they drive/ride by.

My friend was on his Suzuki LC1500. He likes scraping floorboards. He entered a corner in front of a photographer and the bike went over, scraping, throwing sparks, and damned near laid it down. In fact, he was so far over on the floorboard that the front tire was no longer touching the ground!

Some how, the bike came back up and he rode off down the road! No one knows how, not even my friend. He calls it the wreck that didn't happen. He contacted the photographer about getting a photo because he wanted one. The photog told him it wasn't available but that he needed to be at the Deals Gap store in 3 days.

He got there and waited. They called him up and unveiled a photo of the bike going down, sparks flying, and then back up again! It's still on the wall there at Deals Gap today! ; D Victor

#6 confirmation (not even a bit funny compared to #1). Yes, it was time to sell my 1970 something Yamaha 250 2-stroke Enduro that I had won several Hare Scrambles only because it was waterproof and never failed me. It would go all day in rain and mud and start the first kick even after being up-side down. Well guess what, the first prospect arrived and for the first time in its life I wouldn't start. I think it didn't want to leave. OK, I've confirmed 2 out of 8, time for someone else to chime in proving Murphy's law beyond the shadow of a doubt. 8-)

I was on a flood detail to Cody Wyoming in about 1982. I had a combat wombat there at the ranger station that ran very well. A gal at the office wanted to go look at an old ghost several miles up the road. All went well until on the way back we were coming to a hill with a left hand curve, just as a truck crested the hill on my side of the road. It was gas on grab a gear put it into a slide and around the curve on the shoulder with a passenger. If it were not for the years of motocross, it would not have happened. The gal thought it was cool and I think she wanted to do it again. I would not do it regardless, even if someone offered to pay. One ride not forgotten.-----Clarence
