What is the story with the expander ring? I remember reading something at one time but I'll be fiddled if I can find it. I have a situation with maximum piston clearance.

I have read up and the expander ring is another controversy-- some use it some don't. It's not even supplied with ring sets, but is readily available separately.
In my application, I have a cylinder with at-or-above minimum piston clearance, and this will keep it from rattling around.
