Crank Shaft Question
Probably a dumb question, but here goes, I am attempting to rebuild a Super Rat (98) bottom end (my first attempt). After I split the case, the crank came right out of both sides of the case easily with using just my hands. My question is: after I replace the bearings, does the crank just drop back in to the crank bearing or does it have to be pressed in? Thanks, Linc

Re: Crank Shaft Question
It will be pretty much a slip fit - no pressing involved.

Keep the rubber side down!
Re: Crank Shaft Question
The fitment between crank bearing surface and bearing race inner diameter is very closely machined. There should be literally no discernible difference in fitment between old and new, so yes, new ones slip on with no more effort than the old ones needed to come apart.
Verify the bottom end bearing on the rod. If the crank needs rebuilt, now is the time.
