Hodaka obsession begins

Post by Tommyb »

Hi, I've been a member for almost two years now and enjoy the annual Hodaka days get together in Athena. Finally brought home my first Hodaka yesterday! My new obsession, a 250 Thunderdog now resides in my garage.
Questions: I live in Walla Walla and I'm wondering if someone here can recommend a Local mechanic that is familiar with Hodakas that I might speak to about a couple of projects I would like to get taken care of prior to this years Bad Rock ride. Thanks in advance for any help. Tom

Wow! The TDog sounds great! Don't forget to post a picture or 2! We like pictures!

Is it fully operational, or does it need work? I've thought about doing a Thunder Dog for myself. I'm in the middle of my 3rd restore now. A 1975 Model 99 Road Toad! These bikes can be addicting! ; D Victor

Heh heh heh. Resistance is futile. My obsess'n fermented (festered ??) for almost 50 years and finally came to pass. Bought a decent Wombat Resto and have spent the last month tinkering, puttering and redoing it to perfection. Ridden a total of 2-3 days in 50 years.

YMMV, of course.

Great info, thanks for the lead SoCalHodaka, I will contact Ron. Yes the Thunderdog is operational although it needs tune up, a little rear brake work, and a kick lever spring and retainer (just placed my first of many parts order) prior to running the Bad Rock course. Then this winter, attacking the resto projects. Looks like parts are going to be "fun" to track down... I will try to post a few pics next week. SOO excited. Thanks guys
