I know people have changed the frontends on the Thunderdogs to kdx and other brands, what have they done about the steering stem from loose ball bearings to caged bearing setups. Thanks for any help. I am trying to build a motocross setup, I have several 250's and want to build a motocrosser, I raced one motocross in ahrma nationals in 1998 but never really changed a lot but the swingarm and some motor work but I really liked being different instead of the Maico's I had been racing. Thanks for any help

Are referring to the change from loose ball bearings to tapered roller bearings?

The front end I used to build mine is from a 1985 Honda XL350 it used tapered roller bearings also , I removed the stock ball bearing races , and replaced with the taper bearings , I also had to modify the stem length and steering stops , this is also a 175 frame but the steering head is the same as the 250. If your building a racer I have available Billet reed manifolds for the 250 that uses V force reeds.
