You hear of use of the manual. There are three levels of manuals, the owners hand book is for general it does not cover details or specifics. Then there is the shop manual supplement covering some detail of the specific model as the Super Rat or the ace 100B. Most important is the shop manual, the shop manual covers many details not covered by the supplement, so if you want to know everything in depth or have the widest source or knowledge, you would you would refer to the shop manual and the supplement.
