Anyone have a reliable source for these? My "guy" doesn't have any. 1 1/4" O.D. X 1/2" inside. On one edge is a flange that bottoms against the stem tube, I can supply a pic or send the old bearing if that helps. Thx.

If you don't have any other luck or leads, try this link:
http://www.vxb.com/VR1640-Full-Compleme ... t12669.htm
It is for a ball bearing sized 1/2" x 1 1/4" x 3/8", from
www.vxb.com , a bearing supply house.
Before you go there, make sure Paul at Strictly Hodaka doesn't stock them.

Been on that site as well as a few others. I believe I may have a source on the east coast, still looking into it. Would like to find an upgrade as the stock bearing is "unground", be nice to have a sealed flanged bearing.

I rebuild a Steen last year and found that most bolts and nuts are American as well as most pares except for the engine which is all Hodaka.I got all of the bearing from a local bearing Co.(Kaman) they in turn got the steering head bearing # SFB AF 3240 unground flanged radial ball bearing at a cost of $12.33 each. I believe. this company is national and might be in your area. I also replaced all of the bearings, swing arm bolt(which is American).
I have this one for sale if any body is interested.

I tried my local Kamen bearing location and he couldn't help me, also a couple of other local bearing houses, with no luck. Even tried Ag suppliers as it is an American size with no luck. I believe I may have found what I need at a local auto parts shop, still waiting on the call to go see what he found for me. Yes, the Steen chassis uses all fractional hardware, mostly 3/8", some 5/16". And of course the Hodaka motor is what it is.

Dan when you find the brg,s if you do, please post some info, I have two steens now and may need some replacement brg,s as well. Also concerning the Van Tech,s in you opinion, which size front end works best on a Hodaka. Thanks Bruce
PS do you have any Yamaguchi parts locations, I have one of those now and need some detail stuff.

No, no outlet for Yamaguchi, as for the forks, I believe there were 3 different sizes, the first were very small and came on the original frame kits, then there were a slightly heavier set, and then the sets for the 250 and bigger bikes, I'd try to find a set of the med ones. I'll keep you posted on the bearings.

Hello again, Kaman Bearing here had to order the bearing which they did willingly. I do not know why they did offer this to you? They did the same for all the wheel bearings too. If you have the old bearings use that number, but see if they can get doubles shielded. Good luck.

At my Kamen, they didn't even list that size in his reference book, so he sent me else where with a "good luck". The place I found them thru is more local.
