Just inherited this for a small price from my uncle who got it new when he was 10. Not sure how long it's been since it's ran but it took me a day to get everything cleaned up and it fired up pretty quickly. What an opportunity to own this bike. I told my uncle it would stay in the family. Hopefully my kids gets some good use out of it.

Very, original and very lucky. Imy now 37 and can recall seeing this bike sitting idle (pun intended ) since I was very young. Until the prospect of owning it came around I wasn't even sure of what kind of bike it was or the following it's maintained. Can't wait for some warmer weather so I can can get it outside where she belongs! Wisconsin is finally in winter mode!

Awesome to keep it in the family! You would not believe how many of us wish we had our Hodakas that we bought brand new but thanks to Paul we can still keep our current bikes running like new again! Richard

Heck, you hope your kids get some use out of it? Your just a kid yourself at 37, join us over 50 guys and rip on it and share it with the kids.

I definitely plan on running around on it myself. My son is only 6 so it'll be awhile for him. Not sure it's going to be my daughters thing, but until then I guess I'll have to pretend I'm a kid although my wife would already agree that I am one. I have ordered a couple parts. The only moving part that I that didn't work when I got it was the throttle. Must be frayed inside pretty good. So I'm glad that there is a convenient way of getting a lot of these parts. I've also had just as much fun learning the history of these unique bikes. It's funny because I've asked alot of guys at work about Hodaka's and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Must of been a rare bike around my neck of the woods!

sbraatz3,
Usually you have to find people over 50 years old to be knowledgeable of the word "Hodaka", even at motorcycle shops. I usually tell them to look it up on Google and eBay. I just did and got 573,000 hits on Google and 4,685 Hodaka parts for sell on eBay.

Oh, Yeah these guys are well over 50! That's why I thought it was odd that none of them remembered that name.

Don't count your daughter out, mine took a love for the Hodaka at around 13 years old.

Socal, That is really cool. I like the gopro on top of her helmet. Just more living proof that these bikes are time machines!
