Hodaka "Super Mini" project done

Here's a project we have been working on at the 2Brothers VMX Racing Team shop for the last few months. It was taken to Hodaka Dave's for final assembly using his expertise fabrication and knowledge. We built this as a 100cc Super Mini to compete in the Vintage Youth classes by my youth rider Reed Borgfield. It is built to the original AMA Minicyle Specs from the 1970's/80's when Jeff Ward came out with his famous Mini Elsinore. This has 16" rear and 17" front, 48" wheelbase and sits about the same size as the Hodaka powered Steens did that was so dominating in the original 100cc class. A Clarke Elsinore tank, New 40 year old Preston Petty fenders tops it off. A Hodaka Dave Rozier built Early Super Rat motor with a original Webco head off of one our race bikes from the 70's. We wanted to replicate this build to look like Reed's Dad's, AHRMA 100cc Expert Champion 1974 Super Rat. Follow us on our Facebook page as we get ready to fire this bike up.

Awesome work indeed, That is a great Idea, now the question, is this a sort of production project customers can order, custom built with diff paint configurations and maybe even diff eng specs, from stock to all out racer. It would sell, not a lot but maybe great racer out of the box program. It does not replace the Steens and Van Tech projects out there, but those are getting far and few between, and feel it would sell.
Great job guys; Need to have it a Hodaka Days for display. Now what is next? Bruce Young Hodakaparts.com IDAHO

Hi Bruce, Thanks for the complements. Yes, we are thinking of building these after the shakedown of this one. We are planning different levels. i.e. entry, intermediate, and full race. We would love to get these out on the tracks and get the "Youths" involved with Vintage Racing. Unfortunately we won't be able to attend Hodaka Days this year as we have a AHRMA race that weekend in our backyard at Old Appleton, Missouri. We put on a full blown Sponsor, Racer, and Friends party with food and beverages on that Saturday night. We are trying to get the track to change it's date for 2017 so we can attend Hodaka Days with our entire Team.

Very cool Gang. I do like the approach that 'nothings sacred' when it comes to modifying Hodaka things! Great job and my kind of project, keep up the good work!
Max
PS--what are those cool rear shocks and how long are they?

Love to have the whole team at Hodaka Days, maybe be the Guest of Honor ( the whole team ) for the event. Lets start putting something together and work in that direction. It would be an honor to have the whole team there. It would be great to see diff; categories represented as things to see that weekend. Trials bike, top resto bikes, and the persons, whom built them to answer questions on how to. Thanks again and keep us all tuned into the new bike project as it goes ahead. Good Luck and keep the wheels turning. Bruce Young
