Mounting an early Ace 100 front fender

I have an early Ace 100 that has the low fender. My question is;
Does the front wheel need to be removed to install it? It seems like a tight fit getting it between the forks.

Yes, you will definately need to remove the front wheel.

There were two different Ace 100 low front fenders, the one used on the Ace 100 and the one used on the Ace 100B. I have installed the Ace 100B low fender without removing the wheel. It needs to slide in from the back of the forks, but it will fit.

Sounds like we are talking the ace 100-A with the low mounted fender, bigger wheels and longer forks. The ace 100 B had a different exhaust and high mounted fender among other things. The early ace 100 front fender
looked like a ace 90 finder and wheels like the ace 90? ----------Clarence

This is not my bike, but it is like the one I have. The mounting bracket is wider than the fender and will not fit past the seal retainers. If the wheel is removed, I am sure it would go into position without effort.
