How do I remove the breather on the top of the crankcase for my 1973 125 Hodaka 94A?

Does the breather vent on my 1973 Hodaka 125 94A screw out?

No threads. Can be a bit of pain to remove. There's a good thread on this forum about breather mods...

Dennis I have a 73 124 Wombat 94A also. Why do you want to remove the breather?

Never tried to figure it out but I think they are pressed in place, possibly deformed slightly like a rivet. I have heard of folks drilling them out, but that's about the only way I know of. Unless you provide an alternate vent, I would leave it be because it needs something. If you use the oil dip stick as a screw in vent location, the original vent is redundant.

Heat the aluminum case and using a twisting motion remove carefully with a pair of vise grips. Performed carefully it will not mar the vent. Of course depends on how tight it is too.

Some oils do foam and when they do it is a problem. When using non foaming oils it has never been a problem. The majority of Hodaka's have never had a problem with foaming overfilling yes. ----------Clarence.
