Anyone have a good source for a simple lever style Hodaka stand. I almost threw my back out this weekend trying to put the wife's DS on my T bar stand. The CW has a ground clearance of just under 10 inches. The Ace, just over 11.
I have been looking a cheap lever/pedal stands and they seem to have a minimum height of about 13 inches. Anyone??

There are cheap rocking stands (around $15-$20?) that work ok - simple and fairly durable.
I recently was given (sorta stole it initially) an MSR Pro-Lift stand - excellent quality, adjustable to suit vintage bikes or tall PV bikes. I think adjustment runs from 9.5"-14.5".
Liked the gift so much, I bought another one for this season. Good construction, stable, and pretty clever.

Hey Richard, you might check Harbor Freight stores or online. I bought this one for about 90 bucks. It might be bigger than you are looking for. Lifts 1500#s, 4 1/2" to 16 inches and you can roll big bikes all around the shop. Handle removes easily. You can even park bikes against the wall with a straight in run. Price is right!

Re: A simple pedal stand
Suffering from stand envy, I bought this MSR unit from the Motorcycle SuperStore. I really like this stand. I should have bought one years ago. Much safer than the ones I have been using. Here are photos of it in use on my trails bike and the wife's Dirt Squirt.

Cool Rick!
I had the same thought when I first used one: Why didn't I get this sooner!
Great design, and clever use of leverage - plus you can get it in Hodaka Red

A man can't have too many stands! I think I'll look into a model like that. The one I posted above is shop floor only, but does have its uses despite being big and clunky. Later---
