Battery box compatibility
I'm in the process of building my Super Rat/Ace 100 from several different parts off of different Hodie models. My friend has a battery box off of a Road Toad that he's willing to give me, and I was wondering if that would fit into my Ace frame? Also, are there other battery boxes from other Hodaka models that fit into an Ace frame? Any help/input is much appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Battery box compatibility
I have both on my parts shelf and put them side by side. Nothing in common other than they hold batteries, The Ace box is curved for the tool tube to pass through. It has a bracket welded to it for the battery box plastic side cover.
The Toad has a bracket for an ignition switch and one for a flasher unit. I held the Toad box next to an ACE frame and saw no way to make it work. You can of coarse cut and weld anything if you are a talented welder. If you are that handy you might as well start from scratch.

Thanks for your help Olddogs! I appreciate you taking the time to describe their differences. Now I know a little more about these Hodaka parts. I'll be looking for an Ace battery box now.
