Ace 100 air filter body cad plated?

Does anyone know what the ace 100 air filter body is plated with? Looks like cadmium but not sure.

What ever it was I didn't think it was very durable. I almost think some of the early air cleaners had a zinc coating . ====Clarence

Might have been a zinc wash, but whatever it was, it was thin. If you want to paint one now, I would suggest Argent Silver wheel paint, or hyper silver wheel paint.
