installing the swing arm shaft / bolt in the swing arm and got to thinking, after reading the description from captain ed on how to tighten the front axle so every thing in lined up , that there just might be a way to go about tighting up the swing arm shaft/ bolt in a proper order. i lined it up tightened the pinch bolt then tightened nut, moves nice, greased up good to go ?. albert

yes, the first one i got hold of there were a lot of missing parts so picked this one up because it has all the parts that the first one was missing, this one is missing the toggle switch on the on the Handle switch assembly and that's it , soooo put this one together as a fully functional street legal 03 wombat and then make a dirt only with what's left. the top picture is the 2nd one and the bottom picture is the first one ,nice to have projects lined out for a while ...albert

nice day in the shop today had MISTER George hammerbeck came over and help put this 03 motor together. i had my grandson come over and it was a very companionable day. George is a very good mechanic and great person. he had the hodaka shop in our town back in the day , it was nice to see the knowledge transfer from generations. grandson and him hit it off pretty good, grandson and i both learned a lot and enjoyed his company very much we have a little more to do but time ran out so next week we will get together again and put the rest together. very good time ....albert

wow time flys . after a long summer of wood projects , traveling , getting distracted and screwing around in general im finally finding time to get back to my 03 project. got all the wiring to go though and bring it up to snuff. started with the Handle switch assembly took it apart cleaned it up but missing the light switch and most of the parts that go into it. is there a replacement or a knock off that would work or maybe just hot wire it so it , the head light , stays on all the time and leave it like that . might call terry and see if he has one thats kicking around that has the internal parts that i need ......albert

today was blinker day. lots of spare parts, got a set of front blinkers and i will be able to get a set for the back. one thing that i will do is put some silicone on the ends of the post that bolts on the frame . they were stuffed with dirt and rust and such had to drill them out to clear them up as they need new wire.....albert

I recently bought one of these! They look like they have all the wires needed. Just may have to test colors for matching up. I haven’t got that far yet with my 03 because of Winter weather. But I thought I’d share it with you for the price! :ugeek: Victor

thanks victor. i ordered some wiring supply's and will be getting there in the near future. and as far as winter weather, i keep a infrared heater going at all times once the temps get below freezing usually late October / November till late spring that keeps the temps in my space , 25' x 35' garage with insulated doors and 2 x 6 walls, in the 40s , then when im working / goofing around i have a 220 electric heater i turn on to get the temp up to a comfortable temp, because if i wait for good temps to work out in my shop i might as well move to an apartment and forget the whole thing ......albert

I’m not that lucky. I did get a 15,000 btu tank mounted propane heater this winter. But I can’t close my garage door, or even if it do the door isn’t insulated. So open once, like to leave to go inside to take a leak and whoosh, there goes all the heat. My north wall also is not insulated and neither is my roof, so heat retention is still an issue. If it’s much below 45*F I can’t heat it above maybe 55*, and the concrete slab floor never really warms up either. So standing on a rug doesn’t help much to provide a buffer to the cold for my feet. Type of shoes don’t matter when the floor is 30*F or colder! In the past it hasn’t been that cold but this year has been colder than normal. :ugeek: Victor

Been there! But I don’t have a heat gun. And my garage has 2 outlets which are on the same darned GFCI circuit for my entire house, inside and out! I should probably take out the existing breaker panel and put in a bigger one with enough useable wiring/outlets for my garage. Maybe when it warms up. When I was in college, I took a semester of electrical wiring. I had to install a breaker box and wire up the Model tough in house in the lab, to pass my final exam. And my breaker box is in my garage. :ugeek: Victor
