flash back
Re: flash back
Never rode a Rickman with a Montesa engine, but I did ride a Montesa VR 250. That was one fast motorcycle.

Re: flash back
The two guys in the photo in the above ad are Harry Taylor and Bob Canfield. Canfield is on his specially prepped ISDT Qualifier event bike.

. . . and this ad photo shows Jim Gentry (wearing the Hodaka hat) and Roger Phillips (on the bike). Both were PABATCO employees. And that might (repeat, might) be Bob Lick in the background on the right. He often helped with pit crew work. His wife worked at PABATCO and he was a pretty quick rider himself.

Re: flash back
I can only positively identify the middle three (from L to R). Harry Taylor, Marvin Foster and Adolph Schwarz. Taken on a trail ride up the South Fork of the Walla Walla River sometime in the 1960's.

Hey! I know that guy crossing the log!
In other news - a couple of posts back . . . the ad with the photo of a cloud of dust. That photo was taken at the Lewiston, Idaho track about the time the Super Combat came out . . . and I'm pretty sure John Dallaire was there.

Re: flash back
A good chance that I was there too but in attendance only. The orange tankers were new and I remember how excited I was to see the 2 Super Combats ahead of the pack in turn 1 in the first race that day. A vivid memory!Bullfrog wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 5:58 am Hey! I know that guy crossing the log!
