I'm pulling for you, Victor. Slow and steady...

Yeah. Just slow & steady would be nice. Not this paint the gas tank for the third time thing! And it was gloriously shiny already! Wet sanding and buffing would have made it look custom painted! Well, maybe still....

. . . are you going to repaint the tank every time one of those grandson's does a flop in a slick corner?

No. But I at least want to give my nephew a bike which looks like it's been redone, without scratches & nicks, BEFORE I put the tank graphics on. It was my grandsons who damaged this one, just not being careful!

Victor cover the scratches with a sticker. Peel one of those stickers, like on Maxes tool box. STP, Borax, Bardahl everyone send Victor a sticker.

Every Hodie tank of mine looks like it tangled with a mountain lion in a hail storm. Hey, they are working bikes.

Taber. My pride wants the bike to look great when he takes it home. He also wants to ride it to school during the week so I want it to look good for him when he shows it off! I've already put the filler on the tank and will start sandingbit it in just a few minutes. Then a spot shot of primer and then the red for touch up and blending followed by more clear. I may have it done before the end of the day.

Victor just dry humor for the drought year. You are looking good at my age I'm slow and not too steady.----------Clarence

Hey Clarence, it's OK! We all have our ways! I'm a bit (OK a lot) anal retentive, and can't let something like a white chip in a red tank get by me. Maybe I should have gone with a red plastic tank! Oh well. Primer is dry. Time for a little more sanding!

OK Matt, et al. She's all red again an pretty smooth. When it's dried, if I have time tomorrow after my angiogram, I'll shoot it with clear AND HIDE IT UNTIL ITS DRY!!! NO ONE goes in my garage!!! LOL! Wish me luck tomorrow with the angiogram.
My cardiologist said I had an asymptomatic heart attack. So they want to get pictures of my heart veins. Hopefully, there won't be any treatment needed, other than continue to lose weight & maintain control of my blood sugars.

Well, the angiogram went without incident. Was there a little before 9 & was out before 1:30! A little rest this afternoon. Just taking it easy. They made a good sized hole in my right wrist. Dr. Said no throttle twisting for 2 weeks.

Got the first clear coat on again! Let her dry & add a second coat. Then let her dry & wet sand with 2000 grit and buff. Fingers X'ed this time!

Thank you Max! I'm finally proud of how she looks! Personally, I still like the Green Road Toad color better. But the nephew liked the Red & Black colors better & I told him he could have what he wanted! My grandson's Toad will be traditional in color (see attached)!
Going to paint the pipe for it today! And I'm checking out 3, 6 volt batteries locally, at Batteries Plus, for $24.95. That is about 3 for the price of 2 when you factor in the shipping savings! I just need to figure out where I put my 6 volt trickle charger! I may have them start up just one battery for me. Hoping all the wiring/lights work OK. I did trim and determinate EVERY connector on the harness!

OK. The damned pilot jet was clogged again! Exactly what causes the jet to clog up and stop passing fuel?
Also, stock pilot jet for this carb was supposed to be a 30 pilot jet & it had a 50 in it! No wonder it started without the choke on, especially at this elevation! I dropped it down to a 40 which came with the rebuild kit I bought from Dan.
I removed and replaced the tensioning Screw for the points. Having a damned difficult time gapping again. Had to get ready for church and my middle grandson's 15th Birthday Dinner. So I'll finish messing with it tomorrow.
I may still drop the pilot jet to a 30 if I have one in my carb tackle box. More to come. It's time to make sure she's a dependable starter/runner!
Why is it you're never done when you're done?
