[quote]I'd like to know the specs on all the internal carb components and the setting of the pilot air screw for starters. Also the condition of the starter circuit plunger and bore.

Ah yes, the starter circuit. You could be on to something Ed.

Now that worn carb components have been brought up, I should mention that I had a 96 Dirt Squirt that loaded up badly. It turned out that the carb jet needle and needle jet were badly worn causing a rich condition at mid throttle settings (where it is operated most). I would expect that any bike with oil injection would wear these components more rapidly as there is no oil in the fuel going through the carb.

Maybe would wear a little faster but remember that 4 strokes don't have oil going through the carb. Letting dust get in with improper filtering would really wear it faster.

True enough Bill.

I wonder if the flange mount carbs wear faster since they are mounted directly to the engine without the vibration damping benefit of the rubber manifold. It doesn't apply in this case, just thinking out loud. :geek:

Regardless, a carb investigation should be done for the OPs bike.

Been away for a couple of days.

Ed,
The reason I question what screw was loosened to bleed air from the oil injection is Downerman's reference to "phillips screw bleeder". All of the check valve / banjo bolts I have seen on the 03 Wombat are hex head bolts.....maybe 7 or 8mm. Also his reference to, " lower works on the line from the oil reservoir to the oiler and the other is from the oiler to your case and carb intake". Sounds like he is working at the oil pump end instead of the check valve / bango fitting. His problem may not turn out to be the oil system but Downermans description sounds like he needed a little direction. Downerman please do not take my comments as being harsh or derogative just trying to politly offer assistance. And no dis-respect intended to Ed.

Mike,
Yes my 74 Kawasaki 750 is a 3 cylinder two stroke widow maker. Very fast in a straight line, brakes not up to acceleration / top end ability and wiggles when leaned over and turning hard. When it doesn't scare you; the most fun you can have with your pants on.
